Kodiak Island is an outstanding location for scenic boating. The view of land from the water is entirely different from the view from shore. The vast forests and mountains are towering and awe-inspiring when you “back off” a bit and get perspective from just a little way off shore. The island is located in an archipelago of other islands, with Shelikof Strait on one side and open ocean on the other.
Motor in close to shore for priceless views of bears fishing for salmon or nibbling berries along the beach, eagles nesting atop skyscraper spruce trees and waterfalls cascading down rock faces. Or cruise out farther for whale watching and glaciers.
