Alaska may be off the beaten path, but getting here is easy. Anchorage is a modern city just 3 ½ hours’ flight from Seattle and 5 ½ from Los Angeles. Many airlines offer flights to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, which is the world’s fourth-busiest cargo airport and serves more than 5 million passengers each year.
From Anchorage, Kodiak is a quick 45-minute flight on Alaska Airlines. Three airlines – Alaska Airlines, RavnAir Alaska and its subsidiary PenAir – offer daily flights between Anchorage and Kodiak.
Want to bring your vehicle to Kodiak? It’s easy on a ferry. The Alaska Marine Highway System services Kodiak via Homer, which is about four hours’ drive south of Anchorage. For more information visit: www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs.
